Profile

Celia Extremo Martín holds a degree in Sociology and International Relations from the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), where she also completed a Master’s degree in Research Methodology in the Social Sciences.

Throughout her career, she has participated in projects such as Analysis of discourses on emotional distress/suffering and on ways of intervening/helping/acting in response among the population of Madrid (UCM) and Is the transition really just? Report on just transition aid with a focus on social exclusion and poverty (EAPN Madrid). These projects are aimed at generating policy impact and building synergies with citizen movements.

Her academic training and involvement in various projects have enabled her to explore a wide range of qualitative and participatory research techniques. In addition, during her internship at the Centre for Sociological Research (CIS), she worked on the design, programming, and validation of surveys.

In 2023, she joined IPNA through a JAE Intro fellowship, and in 2025 she completed her master’s internship at the center. She is currently pursuing her PhD and has joined as a research technician in the project Social inequality through school canteens: Understanding and mitigating its impact on children and adolescents in the Canary Islands (ADESCAN).
